Day 26- A picture of Somewhere I've gone to

Hey my loves,
Sorry I didn't post this yesterday, I had a hectic day. It was my nephew's 6th Birthday and I had to do a lot of things like bake his cupcakes and wrap his gifts last minute. In the afternoon my brother brought him over so we could sing Happy Birthday to him and so he could open some of his presents. Saturday he's gonna have his real birthday party, but what fun is a birthday if you can't open presents.

Anyways, this post is day 26 and it asks for a photo of somewhere I've been, well to be honest, I haven't been many places...I know, I know how lame. I went to Louisiana once when I was little and I've visited Mexico often, since my parents were born there. Unfortunately, with all the stuff going on with the drug cartels and stuff, it's pretty tough to travel to Mexico these days, so we haven't gone in a few years.

One of the last times I went was I believe back around Thanksgiving of '07, before things got really bad over there. On our way back, I snapped this picture of the Rio Grande River...

This is the river that seperates The U.S. (Texas) from Mexico.
I took this picture from the car, while waiting to crossover, we were there for like 3 hours waiting. The line was super long. That was back then and when, tons of people used to go to Mexico for the holidays. Ah the good old days. To be honest, I can't wait to go back, I miss my family, seeing where my parents grew up and hanging out over there on vacations. I remember going over there all the time when I was younger. I can't wait for this whole ordeal with the drug cartels to be over, if it ever is. Mexico, atleast the part where I'm from, is not the same today as it was back 4 yrs. ago when I took this picture. It truly makes me sad. :(

So yeah, I hope you enjoyed this quick post.

Where have you traveled?

Pink Mani Wednesday!!! =>

Hey loves,
So my amazing friend Ms. Prettyful Girl (check her out) asked me to join her on this weekly series called Pink Wednesday. From what I read, it just means that every Wednesday you show off a pink mani on your blog. It originated from the movie Mean Girls, which by the way, if you haven't watched it, you definitely should. So from now on, I'll try my best to do Pink Wednesday. We'll see if I stay committed to it, if not, I guess I get exiled from the group lol. :)

So my pink mani for today consists of 3 coats of Milani's Neon Pink Pop...
A less intense, medium, neon pink (trust me, it doesn't come off as in your face, as other neons.

For a little something extra I added one coat of
Sally Hansen Xtreme Nails in Strobe Light on my ring finger...
Strobe Light is a light pink glitter. It's not super opaque, but it works amazing.

So there it is, that's my pink mani for the day, I hope you enjoyed. If you like this little series you should definitely join in and start it on your blog. :)

Day 25- What's in my purse?

Hey girls,
Today is Day 25, and guess what, I'm almost done with the 30 Day Challenge. Today asks for me to show you what's in my purse. So let's get started....

This is my purse...
I got it at Ross a while ago. It's kind of old and beat up, I definitely need to get a new one. :)

This is what the inside of my purse looks like (TODAY lol)...
It's kind of messy, but it's not usually this jumbled up. I organize it every once in a while, but it always goes back to looking like this.

Here's what's inside...

In no particular order...
-My wallet
-My  hot pink IPOD and the little thing to plug it into my car
-My Physician's Formula Powder
-Target Coupon Book
-ELF Blotting Sheets (Even though I never use them because my skin is dry)
-Sequin coin purse
-BBW Peach Citrus lotion (forgot to show this in my haul yesterday. Whoops! lol)
-Eclipse Gum (I usually carry orbit)
-My house keys
-Movie Ticket to Bad Teacher (Saw it on Sunday)
-That little black bag carries, eyelash curler, lip balm, lipstick, lipgloss, and eyeliner)
-A little Bible that they were handing out at school one day, and its been in my purse since. (It's been like a year)
-My USB
-Some lead, pens and pencil
Nivea Express Hydration lotion sample
-A CVS and Target receipt
-And a wet wipe from Wings N More

I usually also carry my camera in my purse, but I used it to take pictures lol. And you're probably wondering why I didn't include my phone, well I usually keep my phone in my pocket or my hand.

So that pretty much sums up everything I have in my purse. Nothing very interesting.
What is something you always have in your purse?
Let me know down below.

Day 24- A photo of something that means a lot to you.

Hey everyone,
Today is Day 24 and it asks me to show you a photo of something that means a lot to me. Well, there are a lot of things I have that have some kind of sentimental value for whatever reason it may be, but the one that I chose for this post is this this stuffed tiger...

If you read yesterdays post, then you probably saw that one of the facts about me is that my Mom passed away when I was 12. Well this little stuffed tiger that sits on my bed day and night means so much to me because it was one of the things my Mom bought me on my 12th Birthday a few months before she died.

I cherish it very much and when we had to evacuate a few years ago because of a hurricane, this was one of the first things I grabbed that I knew I was gonna take with me. I'll probably have this forever, no matter how  old, dirty, and scruffed up it gets.

What is one thing that means a lot to you?
Let me know down below. :)

HAUL!!! BBW, OLD NAVY, TARGET, ROSS

Hey loves,
I know  I said I was gonna try not to haul for a while, but I couldn't resist. lol. I have a problem, it's called SHOPPING, I'm sure many of you suffer from the same condition. lol. Don't judge me. lol. No really, you see, what had happened was lol, my aunt doesn't drive and she wanted to do a little shopping, so of course, I offered to take her, and I ended up with all this stuff lol.

Bath & Body Works
As some of you may know, BBW is having their Yellow sale and since I was running out of lotion, I decided now would be the perfect time to get some more.

I got...
Fiji Passionfruit
PearBerry
Coconut Lime
Plumeria
Hawaii Coconut
Pink Fruity and Bright.

OLD NAVY...
I got this plaid shirt because it's very casual, it was only $6.50 (clearance) and it's a very thin, airy material.
These flip flops are so cute. This picture doesn't do them justice. They are silver with rhinestone beading. The beading looks really durable. It doesn't look like their gonna fall off easily. I loved these; they were also on clearance lol.

Ross...
At Ross, I just picked up these Black sandals with mirror embellishments. I like buying shoes at places like Ross because they're durable and they're very inexpensive. I wore them yesterday to the movies.

Target...
Haha, and last, but not least, I bought some toys for myself at Target lol. jk.
My nephews birthday is on Wednesday, so I bought him some action figures. He likes bad guys, I got him a Decepticon from Transformers, Mace Windu from Star Wars (he's not a bad guy), and Carnage which is like the evil Spiderman. For some freakin action figures or whatever these are, these things are expensive, but I love my munchkin and I don't mind buying him these if he wants them. I have to return the Star Wars one though, his Dad bought it for him the other day. Grrr!!! I guess I should've told him I had bought it for his birthday lol.

Yeah, so that's pretty much it. I have been trying to shop less (yeah right, that's why you're hauling right?). Lol there goes my conscience yelling at me lol. I hope you enjoyed this haul.

Hey loves,
So since I love nail polish so much and I know most girls do too, I decided to do a nail polish collection post.
It seems like I have a lot of nail polish, but trust me, I don't have as much nail polish as other girls. I believe in total, I counted 56 nail polishes, sounds like a lot huh? lol. I had more but I got rid of some that were old or I didn't like. I have a feeling my collection isn't done growing lol.

I wasn't sure how to show you girls all the nail polishes, so I split them up by shade. I also wasn't sure if I should include the names, but it is a nail polish collection, so I decided to include the names of all the nail polishes in order from Left to Right. :)

As far as how/where I store my nail polish...
I store my nail polishes in this hot pink box that I bought at Ross last summer. It came in a set of 2 (a hot pink and a lavender one) for $4. It's really sturdy and durable.

Here's how it looks on the inside. Oh no! I'm running out of room! lol. I'll probably find a new way to store them soon. I've heard nail polish should always be stored upright. As you can see, I also keep other nail supplies in my little box. :)

So there it is, my nail polish collection...hope you enjoyed.
How much nail polish do you have? More? Less? How do you store it?
Let me know down below. lol

Day 23- 15 Facts About Me

Hey loves,
It's Day 23, so it's time for me to tell you 15 Facts About Me, so let's just jump into this...

1. I love the smell of men's cologne so much, I want to buy one and wear it lol.
2. I've never been on an airplane before but I can't wait to get on one.
3. I went through my nerdy stage from the ages of 11-13 lol, so glad those days are over
4. I've been in a relationship since I was 16. (I'll be 21 in a little over a week)
5. I lost my mom when I was 12. :(
6. This may be weird, but I really enjoy watching WWE (wrestling lol)
7. My Dad is my hero :)
8. Some of you may think that I'm such a bum, but I've actually never had a real job lol, and I definitely am not proud of that. I want to get out there and get a job. I'm not getting any younger you know. lol
9. I've never tried a drug in my life although, I definitely know people that have.
10. I'm a kid at heart. I still play Super Mario and Sonic, I still like running around with my nephew, I still order a Happy Meal every once in a while, and I still have some stuffed animals on my bed lol (only the ones that were given to me by special people (my mom, my bf, my brother, and some friends)
11. I can't go more than 3 days without going to Target. Even if I don't need anything lol.
12. I've never failed a class in my life (Not in elementary, middle, high school or college).
13. I find myself to be a little more mature than some people my age. (Not sure if that's good or bad lol)
14. To this day, I haven't had to go to the hospital or had an IV put in. (Thank God).
15. I've been anemic most of my life. (That just means that I lack red blood cells because I lack iron. Nothing too serious). Although it causes me to have irregular and heavy menstruation which can be a big pain in the butt. Hope that wasn't TMI lol, which it probably was.

Hope you all enjoyed reading this post and I really hope you learned something new about me. To be honest, I had no idea what to write, so I was just writing whatever came to mind. lol. Also, I really like getting to know a little bit about my followers and my fellow blog buddies, so I'd really like it if you left at least one fact about yourself down below. :)

Floral Nail Design Attempt lol

Hey loves,
So I've never been too great at doing nail designs. I have super shaky hands and that doesn't help when you're working on art for your fingernails lol. Most of the time when I try, it doesn't come out so great, but
recently, I've been seeing a lot of bloggers and even some youtubers do this one floral design that looks so pretty to me, so I decided to test it out on two of my fingernails. If you wanna check out two of the ladies that I copied this design from check out LaBarbie0426 and Dinorah Baby. Their designs are much better than mine and keep in mind, this is my first time trying something like this. I was just excited that it came out halfway decent lol, so I wanted to share it with you girls in a quick little post.

I tried it first on a bare nail, and then on a nail with a minty background.
Not that bad, huh? I did okay for my first time lol.

If you're curious about what I used I used
Maybelline Minty as a base
Wet N Wild Tickled Pink is the light pink
Confetti First Kiss is the darker pink
China Glaze Four Leaf Clover as the leaves
And a toothpick to draw the designs.
Who needs nail art brushes and pens lol?!

Hope you enjoyed this quick little post. I didn't do all my fingers. I just was bored and wanted to try it out, but I thought it turned out kind of cute lol.

What do you think, am I completely crazy, is my nail design horrible lol or did I do a halfway decent job? Let me know down below.

Maybelline The Falsies Flared Mascara First Impressions!!! :)

Update: I hate this mascara, the formula is way to dry, it clumps, it flakes, and when I wash it off, instead of melting away, it comes off in clumps (weird). I stopped using it about a week and half after I bought. I definitely prefer The Falsies Black Drama. I'll have a full length review later.

-xoxo-
frugalspender19

Hey girls,
As some of you may know, I am a Maybelline The Falsies Fanatic. I loved the original, then they came out with the Black Drama version and I fell deep in love with that one, and recently they came out with The Falsies Flared. I had been dying to try it, but the only place I had seen it at was Walgreens and I refused to pay $1.50 more than at my local Walmart and Target so I impatiently waited for them to put out the display and finally on Thursday, I saw it at Walmart for $5.94, I believe, which is the typical price for The Falsies Mascaras.
I picked one up in the darkest color available which is Blackest Black, and was on my way.

Image provided by Google
I forgot to take a picture of the actual bottle lol, and I
had already uploaded my other pics, so google it was.
Packaging:
I think the bottle is so cute, I love the wings on the cap and the silver lettering.
Scent:
Okay, so the other The Falsies Mascaras have no scent to them, but this one has like a rose scent. If you've ever tried the Collosal Mascara it smells like that. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but for now I guess I'm okay with it.
Formula:
I've only been trying this for two days, and I feel like the formula is a little bit drier than the original and the Black Drama version. I also felt like it made my lashes feel a little stiffer or harder if that makes sense. Which I'm kind of not a fan of. It also doesnt have the little fibers that Black Drama has.
Brush:
The brush on this one is different from the other two Falsies mascaras. This one doesn't have a spoon brush. If you look below you can see that...
When you look at the brush from the side, Maybelline The Falsies Black Drama has a dip.
But, The Falsies Flared is pretty straight from the side view.
The brushes are similar in the sense of the bristles being platic bristles, but they are definitely shaped differently. The Falsies Flared has a fatter brush than the original (Sorry you cant tell from the photo above).

Application:
I still haven't figured out exactly how I like to apply this mascara. I'm so used to using the spoon brush that this new brush might take some getting used to for me. Like I said before, the formula is a little bit drier, but it applies nicely. It did give volume and length, it didn't clump much and it hasn't flaked on me. I forgot to take a picture when I applied my mascara, but here are some pictures I took around 9 hours after I applied it. Excuse my smudgey/faded eyeliner. :)

Two coats

As you can see, it works very similar to The Falsies Black Drama, it's just not as black as Black Drama, but that's not a huge deal for me. I don't know about the whole Flared scenerio, I don't see much flaring going on. lol. But then again, maybe it was the way that I applied it. It seems like Maybelline, added a scent, dried up the formula a little, switched the brush, changed the packaging and called it a day lol.

Overall, I like it, and I'll keep trying it out, but since I like mascaras to be a little more wet, I might go back to my The Falsies Black Drama. In my opinion this one is way better than the original The Falsies, it hasn't knocked out The Falsies Black Drama for me yet though, but that might just be because I'm still trying to figure out how to work with the brush. We'll see what happens. I'll update ya'll if my opinions changes. :)

Have any of you tried this mascara?
What are your thoughts?

Day 22- A letter to someone who has hurt you recently....

Hey loves,
Today asks for me to write a letter to someone who has hurt me recently, well, to be honest, nobody has hurt me recently, so I don't have a letter to write. lol

As far as people that have hurt me in the past, well I won't waste much time on them. They're in the past, they will remain in the past. I'll be completely and utterly honest with you girls. When a person hurts me, a family member, a friend, a guy, whomever it may be. I'm quick to forgive, because resentment and anger towards other people won't get me anywhere. If I waste my time being angry, I'm only hurting myself.

Let's put it like this, I forgive, but I don't necessarily forget.
The friends that were toxic in my life, aren't my friends anymore. I forgive them for the things they did to hurt me, but I don't need to be hurt by them again. They're not my enemies, but they are no longer my friends.

The guys that hurt me in the past. I forgive them and in a way, I thank them. If they wouldn't have hurt me, I wouldn't be with the amazing guy that I'm with right now. I no longer talk to them, but if I was to run into one of them, I'd be happy to say Hi. No hard feelings here. :)

I try to keep myself as positive as possible. Sometimes it's hard, and I won't sit here and lie and say that I don't dwell on the past and the things that hurt me sometimes because I do, I'm only human.
But I truly don't like to spend much time on it. I've learned from my bf, that the best thing to do is just be happy and keep moving forward. :)

Day 21- A photo of something that makes you happy...

Hey loves,
Today asks for a photo of something that makes me happy, well like my nephew says, "easy, peezy, cheesy" lol. You wanna see a photo of something that makes me happy...here it is...
my little guy, my munchkin,
This is my nephew...The person that makes me Smile :)

No matter how horrible of a day I'm having, this little guy makes it all go away. He makes me laugh with the things he says, he brings out the kid in me when he wants me to play. When I cant do something he says, "It's okay, I know you can do it Gorda." lol. Oh yeah, he calls me Gorda lol, like everybody else in my family. (Gorda means fat in Spanish lol. I've had that nickname since I was weeks old, and when I was little I hated it because it was embarrassing, but with age, I've learned to love it and embrace it, and now when my family calls me by my real name I don't like it.) But anyways back to my little munchkin, he's awesome! I love him. I don't know what I'd do without him because if anybody can take me out of my little moods, it's this little guy. He'll be 6 next week and it feels like he literally was born yesterday. He's grown up so fast, but I'm so proud of him. He's super smart, super sweet, and a little moody like his Tia (me) sometimes, but it's okay lol. That just makes me love him more.

Hope you enjoyed Day 21.
Let me know down below, what makes you happy?

Products I Regret Buying!!!

Hey loves,
So no matter how much you research a product online, sometimes, you manage to pick up things that are completely the opposite of what you needed. Now, I'll be honest, most of the time, when I buy something and I don't like it, I return it. I'm not just gonna waste my money and keep something that I have no intentions of ever using again. But there are a few items that I didn't return and that's what I'll be showing you today. :)

So here are all the items of regret:

Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Finishing Touch Cream
Seriously, when the name says tousle me softly and the hold level says 1 flexible, I imagine that a product is gonna leave my hair feeling soft and touchable. Well, not exactly. My hair is naturally wavy/curly, and when I wear it natural, I like to apply product on it so that it will define my curls/waves and prevent it from getting frizzy, but this product sucked. This product is goopy, thick, and it makes my hair feel a little crunchy.  It really weighs my hair down and I don't like that at all, so this was a huge regret.

Got2b Smooth Operator Lustre Lotion
This stuff smells really good, kind of like candy, but seriously, I expected way more from it. The "lotion" has no "lustre" lol. It really doesn't moisturize my hair, and I actually felt like my hair (which rarely gets tangled), got really tangled when I used this product. I didn't like that at all. I wouldn't waste my money on it, even if it smells great and has pretty packaging.

Nina Ultra Pro Super Dry Top Coat
I bought this on a whim one day when I went to Sally's and was looking for a top coat that wouldn't break the bank. Well let me tell you, you see the lack of the word "Fast" in the name. I totally missed that. I don't know about you, but to me, a top coat is synonymous with fast drying, and this definitely doesn't dry fast, so it was a fail. That's why the bottle is still full.

N.Y.C. Lip Sliders Tinted Lip Balms
I got these lip balms 75% off at CVS, so I paid less than .50 cents for them, and I really hope these were on sale because they are being discontinued. They really aren't that great at all. They're super sticky. When I tried to apply it on my lips the first time, my finger literally left a dent like a footprint in a puddle of mud. When I slid the top, it broke off and it made another dent in the product. Bad packaging, bad product. That's all there is to say about that.

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara
So I have no idea if this mascara makes your lashes grow because I literally only used it maybe four times. With that being said, I like my mascaras to be wet, but this mascara was way too wet. It literally never dried. It was so heavy on my lashes that they immediately went straight, and when I tried to curl them when they were dry, it really didn't curl at all. I just really didn't like this mascara, but I really wanted to love it. I just can't stand a mascara that takes hours to dry.  Literally.

Softlips
This is another product that should be sued for false advertisement lol. When a product is named "Softlips" I would expect it to make my lips soft, but these don't moisturize my lips at all. They actually made my lips feel more chapped. I know a lot of people love these and rave about them, but I hated them. Good thing I got them on clearance at Target because not only do they not work too great, but they're kind of pricey for lip balm.
Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara
I absolutely cannot stand Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara. It does not lengthen, it does not volumize, it clumps on me like crazy, it doesn't define. It just flat out sucks for me. Now, I know there are tons of people that love this mascara. Good for you, but for me, it was a waste of money. Because I never plan on using this thing again unless I have no other choice.

***These are just my personal experiences and opinions with these products. If you love any of these products, I don't mean to insult you because I know different things work for different people.

So that's it loves, these are some of the products that I really hate. If I could, I would return them all, but I don't because it would just be unsanitary. I don't wanna completely discourage you from buying any of these things, if you think they'll really work for you, go for it. I just thought I'd express my thoughts on them. :)

Do you own any of these products? Do you love them, hate them? Share your experiences down below. It's good for people to see other's opinions on certain products not just mine. :)

EOTD #3- Golden Green :)

Hey dolls,
Here's another EOTD. I don't know what's gotten into me, but lately, I've been doing my eye makeup more. I'm typically a little lazy to apply eye shadow and stuff. I think I'm just trying to improve in the eye makeup department lol. Who knows. So yeah, today I just used this Maybelline Quad that I really hadn't used much.

Eyes:

What I used:
Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Quad in Enchanted Forest
I used it pretty much how it shows you to.
Lid color (TOP LEFT)- All over the lid
Crease Color (TOP RIGHT)- In the crease
Outer Corner Color (BOTTOM RIGHT)- In the Outer corner. :)
Lips:

What I used:
Loreal Colour Riche in Fairest Nude
It's pretty much like a pinky, creamy nude.
This is definitely my favorite lipstick. :)
So that's pretty much it for my makeup today.
How are you girls liking these EOTD things?
Should I keep doing them?
Let me know down below.
I really wanna branch out, and start using more color, instead of neutral based looks, but we'll see. lol. :)

Day 20- Meaning behind my blog name...

Hola,
Day 20 asks for the meaning behind my blog name, well that's pretty simple for me to explain...
I wanted something that would describe what I was trying to share in my blog. When I started my blog, I pretty much wanted to review, haul, and talk about drugstore makeup, sales, coupons, and ways to save money on those things. Immediately, I thought about the word frugal. When I was little I remember my Tia used to always take me to a store called MacFrugals (okay here I go rambling lol), long story short, I always wondered what that word meant, one day I asked my cousin and she told me. For some reason, I never really forgot that word and more recently I've heard people use that word more and more, for example, a lot of people describe themselves as frugalistas.

The word frugal describes someone being cheap, thrifty, or someone who cautiously spends...
fits me pretty well, I don't typically like to pay full price for things. I rather wait for a sale or look for a coupon before spending the full retail price, and even when I don't find a sale or coupon, I typically buy my things at Walmart or Target because you'll find things a dollar or two cheaper than you will at a drugstore.
So anyways, when I was trying to figure out a name for my blog, my first choice was something with the word frugalista, well that was taken so I opted for something else.
The best I came up with was frugalspender because I spend frugally and I just added my age, at the time, at the end. I joined blogger when I was 19 going on 20, I didn't actually start blogging until, I believe, months later, and now I'm 20 going on 21. :)
I must admit, that my blog name could have been more creative, but I'll stick with it. :)

Hope you enjoyed my little long story lol.
What's the meaning behind your blog name???

EOTD #2- Slight Hints of Plum

Hey loves,
I just wanted to share with you all another eye of the day. Hope you enjoy. It's pretty neutral with hints of plum since two of the shades I used are neutrally purples. =>

Eyes:

What I used:
NYX For Your Eyes Only Mysterious Brown Eyes
I used the purpley shimmery color
on the bottom left all over my lid.
Covergirl Country Woods Quad
I used the medium brown on the left
 in my crease.
Not sure what brand this is, but I used
a little of the matte plum shade on the
top left in my outer corner.
Lips:

What I used:
Revlon Soft Nude
Sally Girl Lip Gloss in Curfew on Top.
Hope you enjoyed this quick EOTD. Love you girls.
